F-A-L-L for Jesus

I started heading up Secret Prayer Pal ministry at church. Every month I send out a Newsletter. In the newsletter I like to add an encouraging word, poem, verse, or devotional for women. This is October’s…….

Let’s F-a-l-l in October for Jesus!!

“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me” 2 Corinthians 12:9

F- Fellowship With Christ and With Other Believer’s.

There’s nothing better then having a devotional life that will spur us on to be more Christ-like. Fellowship with Him in prayer, reading and knowing His Word, and keeping our lives from sin should be a high priority if we want His power in our lives.

“12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.” Romans 6:12,13

“Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You. ” Psalm 119:11

Having relationships with other Christians around us will also encourage us in our walks with the Lord. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. ” Colossians 3:16. Our church has wonderful outlets for us women to do so, if you don’t already join, think about joining us in women’s group. Also, there is a new women’s Sunday School class that just recently started up every Sunday morning at 9:30. These are just a few examples of how we as women can get connected.

A- Abide in Christ.

If we want the power of Christ, we need to continually be obeying His Word and keeping His commandments. We need to constantly be in tune with Christ and abiding in Him.
“Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us. ” 1 John 3:24

L-Lean on Christ.

When we lean on Christ, God’s power and strength become ours. Leaning on Him gives us His strength, a strength that we cannot attain on our own.

“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble .” Psalm 46:1

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; ” Psalm 91:1,2

“Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. ” 2 Corinthians 12:10

L- Living and Loving for Christ.

Someone that lives for Christ can have such a powerful life. Being an stagnant Christian will never get us anywhere. Jesus says he would rather us be hot or cold, not lukewarm. However, Living for Christ requires us to move. If we are active for Christ it will help us to have the full power of Christ on our lives.

“not lagging in diligence, but fervent in spirit, serving the Lord ” Romans 12:11

“Serve the LORD with gladness…”Psalm 100:2

Also, Christ calls us to love others, even more than ourselves to the point where we would actually lay down our life for our neighbor. How often do we do this? I know for myself, I definitely need to love others more. I need to sacrifice myself on a daily basis. To put them above my own wants and desires. However, this love can only come from the love that God puts in our hearts to love others with. And with His power and strength, we can love this way.

Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down ones life for his friends. John 15:13

I think that having the power of Christ in our lives just boils down to doing what we know we need to do as a Christian and fully surrendering to the Lord in each aspect of being. We need to be daily walking with the Lord in order to have His power in our lives.

So, how’s your F-A-L-L?
