Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.
Hebrews 11:1 NLT I have never read this verse in the New Living Translation before, but wow! I know there arent large differences between the translations and that they all say the same thing, but having confidence that what we hope for will actually happen. This translation just makes me see it in a whole new light. Our faith and trust is what gives us assurance and confidence of things we cannot see. Do I have confidence that what I hope for will actually happen? There are times I dont. That tells me I need to work on where my hope and trust lye. I need to daily lay my hope and trust in myself at the cross and pick up put my hope and trust in Christ. No wonder why my confidence that what I hope for will actually happen has been lacking.

Keeping Christ In Christ-Mas
Over the weekend Ken and I had the privilege of spending time with my sister and brother in law. We went to their church, Sandals Church.
What an awesome message we heard about keeping Christmas simple. Giving it back to God, realizing and truly living out why we actually celebrate Christmas. Because of Jesus! I was also touched by my sister and brother in law. I know they didn’t do any of the things they did this season for recognition. But I was deeply touched by there giving, and most of all loving hearts towards the less fortunate this year. Thanks guys, you encourage me to give, and love more.
Giving, and loving…definitely what Christmas is all about!
Christ-mas 2007
It was a great day!

Were ready to open presents

Thanks Mom we love our gifts…

Breakfast is almost ready!

And after a peaceful relaxing drama-free day… dinner for two

Yep, a very good day!
It’s a Charlie Brown Christmas!
I say it’s a Charlie Brown Christmas because we have a baby tree this year! I have never in my life had such a small tree. But I love it nonetheless. Its actually not that bad, and very easy to decorate.

Company Christmas Party
This year my companies Christmas party was at a jazz club downtown in Litle Italy called Anthology. It was nice, we had a good time.

Don’t Let Life Pass You By
I once woke up to my Mom, sister, and brother, I blinked and now I am only able to talk to them on the phone, and rarely see them. Once I pretended to drive the car from the passenger seat when driving with Grandpa, then I blinked and now I am the one in the drivers seat driving the car. Once I was in preschool, elementary school, high school, and college. Then I blinked and now the only school I attend is Sunday school. Once, my mom bought my clothes, food, payed the bills, organized and picked out the vacations. Then I blinked and I am the one buying my clothes, food, paying my bills, and picking out my vacations. Once I was a little girl playing wedding, I blinked then I dated the “one” God had given me, I blinked again and said yes when he asked me to be his bride, I blinked yet another time and walked down the isle to become his wife, I blinked again and now here I am his wife of over 2 years.
Where does the time go? In ways it is sad to think of all the moments we pass by in life. It is so easy to just let on living. To go through the motions of life, but not be here so much.
I blinked recently and realized it is December 13th about two weeks until Christmas. I feel like I am still in August. What I’ve realized lately that time doesn’t stand still and wait for us to catch up to it. It doesn’t let us catch our breathes before we continue on. If we aren’t too careful time will pass by, and life will pass by. We can be people who are simply just living, just getting by. Or, we can be people who live life to the fullest. People who seize the day. People who participate in life, and not just live in it.I want to do more than simply just living. My prayer is that I don’t “blink” anymore. I want to look forward without fear, and back without regret when I am at the end of my road. I want to live life to the fullest and not let all these moments simply pass by. But to relish each and every second that God gives me on earth.
