We had our first ultrasound today, and the pictures do not do it justice. It was incredible watching the little heart beating. Absolutely amazing! I am still in awe. It does not resemble human form yet. But it has a blood supply and it’s thump-er is thumpin’ away! Did I mention the heart was beating!!!!!!

Here I am world, 7 weeks old….

To Write Love On Her Arms

My heart has been moved  this weekend some kids from youth group put on a fundraiser concert for the foundation, “To Write Love On Her Arms.” These kids amaze me at how much heart they throw into this foundation, into this cause. There were incredible testimonies about God’s love and grace in the midst of depression, being redeemed from suicide, cutting, drugs, darkness, and despair. These kids amaze me, and I can’t imagine how proud God was watching his children spreading His word of hope and encouragement to hurting depressed teens. A message of  Hope. Love. Pain. Failure. Regret. Brokenness. Broken People. HOPE. Community. Freedom. Redemption. Dreams. Prayers. Song. Fire. Movement.

 Absolutely incredible!

“Love is the movement”…

Night-time carwash

Funny thing happened tonight…. I had this strong desire to clean my car earlier this evening after I got home from dinner with Aim. Mainly because I saw how dirty my car was next to her excessively shiny clean Pilot. So when I got home I asked Kenny if he would come with me. My main plan was to vacuum out the inside at least and clean out all the trash (after-all it was dark out) but since we had pocket change leftover it was just enough to use the self-serve car wash. So Kenny told me he would do it and just to wait in the car while he did. He seemed so sure of what he was doing but needless to say he wasn’t too sure because he spent all the time he had soaping up the entire car, and there was absolutely NO time left to rinse, and we were out of change! Consequently, it left us driving all the way home with a super soaped up car. I was SO embarrassed and tried to hide behind the soap studs while we were on the main road. I cant imagine how much funnier it would have been to actually see this soaped up Honda cruising down Main. LOL. Well when we got home, we had to rinse, dry and clean the windows……all in the dark. Our neighbors must think were crazy (or crazier….whichever). Talk about FUNNY. I could hardly do anything besides laugh!

What is your everything?

I can’t get enough of this song latley. It makes me check myself and where I am at with God at the moment. It reminds me that God wants my life to be balanced, and be everything to me and in me.

EVERYTHING

God in my living
There in my breathing
God in my waking

God in my sleeping
God in my resting
There in my working
God in my thinking
God in my speaking

Be my everything
Be my everything
Be my everything
Be my everything

God in my hoping
There in my dreaming
God in my wathcing
God in my waiting
God in my laughing
There in my weeping
God in my hurting
God in my healing

Christ in me
Christ in me
Christ in me the hope of glory
You are everything

Christ in me
Christ in me
Christ in me the hope of glory
Be my everything

You are everything
Jesus, Everything

My everything is beautiful.

God is Gracious

So I have never felt so held and so loved than I do these past few days. God has proven himself to be so faithful even when I am not. It amazes me how many times I have asked God for something, became defeated because it didnt happen in my own timing, and than God proved his majesty time and time again in my life even when I dont deserve it. And it amazes me on the pure fact that it amazes me everytime, I would think I would start to understand how gracious He is and bask in it, instead, it leaves me completly breathless every single time.

Jillian’s 30 Day Shred

So for the past two weeks, every other day I have been doing Jillian’s from Biggest Loser, 30 day shred (Level #1) video. She is kicking my butt!

It may only be a half hour workout, but it is a half an hour of torture…..See for yourself. (but make sure you do all three videos, they equal level#1–the entire workout) :)

I am pooped.

Health and Wellness 09

So, another part of the new years “plans” was to lose weight, and run a marathon this year. I think I’m on the right track. I’ve been running and working out quit a bit lately…as much as my body allows me anyway. I’ve been starting off slow and walking/running, but today Ken and I ran quit a bit of the 2 miles, I feel proud of myself. It’s getting easier too, even though I am SOOOO not a runner. I’ve been trying to lay off the sweets too, and sure enough guess what Mark showed up with for the Charger game yesterday? A late xmas gift…..a BIG plate of cookies. So these cookies are going with us to Manana’s tonight to share with the kids in the youth group….

Talk about self-restraint these cookies are sooooo good, and soooo tempting :)

Cookbook Recipe#1

So, part of my new years “plans” for this year was to create a cookbook. Part of the reason is that I love to cook, and family and friends frequently ask me for the recipe. The only problem with giving it to them is the fact that I don’t really ‘follow’ any one particular recipe. Alot of the food I make are either a combination of multiple recipes along with my own ideas, or just something I make on the fly with what I have. This sucks when you end up with a great meal but no way of identically recreating it. So here it begins, cookbook recipe# 1.

cheese ravioli with marinara Alfredo meat sauce w/ Italian salad and pesto bow ties

Cheese ravioli w/ tomato-fredo meat sauce ingredients:

-1 jar of spaghetti sauce

-1 jar of Alfredo sauce

-1lb. of ground beef, or ground turkey

-1 brown onion diced

-1 packages of frozen cheese ravioli or any cheese filled pasta

Brown meat and onion

Pour Alfredo, and spaghetti sauce into skillet with browned meat. Let simmer.

Cook cheese ravioli according to package.

Pour meat sauce over ravioli and top with Parmesan cheese.

Italian Salad Ingredients:

-Chopped green leafy lettuce (variety mix is best for this salad)

-Mozzarella cheese shredded (about 3 oz)

-Peperoccinis sliced

-Red onion sliced

-Italian dressing

Mix ingredients together. If you do not have Italian dressing using oil and vinegar works well too.

Pesto Bowtie Ingredients:

-Prepared pesto spread

-1 can of crescent rolls

-1 tbsp of butter

-garlic powder

Unroll crescent rolls to lay flat, spread prepared pesto sauce over each triangle and roll up. Place on ungreased baking sheet and cook at 375 for 12 mins

While cooling crescents, add butter to microwavable dish and add garlic powder. Brush melted butter mixture over crescents.
