Our 4th year anniversary

So we recently celebrated our fourth year anniversary. We werent able to do much, given the fact tha our first born son was just over a week old. But my sister was still at our house, so after nursing the little guy Kenny and I were at least able to make it out for dinner. Nothing real fancy, we went to Nuevo Grill, one of Kenny’s favs. And he brought me home beautiful roses and a sweet card. Good job babe!

We went to Vegas for a few days to get away before he little one comes. We had a good time, we really did just take it easy….We relaxed by the pool most the time, and slept alot.

Date night on a budget

Great inexpensive date night…..Chinese “take-in”. I cooked up some Chinese chicken lettuce wraps, and white rice for date night in last night. (take that PF Chang’s!) It was actually alot of fun. Goes great with a good movie rental, some romance, and maybe a game thrown in there too.

You can get really creative with this date night idea too. Try eating dinner at the coffee table, while sitting on pillows. Also try eating dinner with chopsticks, and maybe throw in some sake! It was a fun way to have a nice Chinese date night dinner, without paying top $.

Beach Day

Kenny and I were able to spend the day together. It was nice, we packed a picnic lunch and headed to the beach.

We were there most of the day, its was nice and relaxing. I fell asleep for a little while, and was awoken by screaming teenagers (as there was a “senior day” from one of the nearby high schools)…lucky us. :) I really do like kids…LOL, just not all of them….hahaha. (that was an interesting conversation in and of itself that we had today).

Anyway, afterwards we went home to grill some kick-in steak. Yay bean! It was so good, which is weird, I haven’t thought beef tasted any good since before I got preggos. My oh my how the taste can change on a dime! All in all…one great day:)

Padre game

We had a really good day together and with friends yesterday. We went to see Star Trek, which was one movie that was off the hizzie. And I gotta say, I’m definitely no treky, or star trek fan for that matter. But the previews looked so good we had to see it. Great movie, go see it!

Anyway, afterwards we met Mark and Kristine for dinner at Applebees, then we went to the Padre game at Pet-co park. They were playing Cincinnati last night. Sadly, I admit I wasn’t all that excited about the game, it just hasn’t been those boys’ season. 19 loses out of what 21? Not too good. But last night the game rocked! We won! And it was one really exciting game. Not to mention Mark scored us some great seats right on the Field level. I had never been so close before.

The fireworks afterwards were really good.

Backyard BBQ

What a perfect day! It’s been such nice warm weather that we decided it was time to bust out some bbq’in! We sat out in the sun, and enjoyed the weather, ate some grubin’ food, and played cards. Even Scout seemed to enjoy it.

We had watermelon, teryaki chicken, rice, and corn. Mmmmm mmm!  I love me some summer time, this is what it’s all about :)

Disneyland’s California Adventure

We had so much fun this weekend at California Adventure. It was such a blessed weekend. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza Resort in Anaheim, and I gotta say Priceline rocks! Anyway, California Adventure is doing this food and wine (and beer) festival and it was totally awesome. We went to this beer seminar where they let you sample different beers and you learn about the process of beer making. It was very interesting. Lucky Kenny was able to sample the beers for both of us! It was fun. They also have wine seminars and all kinds of food classes. It is really awesome.

Toy Story Mania was off the hizzie!

Valentines Dinner

For Valentine’s day, we stayed in and I made a nice dinner. It was alot of fun.

My hubby brought me home this beautiful rose filled vase for Valentine’s Day, it looked perfect on the table.

Dinner consisted of; marinated rib eye steak, buttered shrimp, sauteed green beans, and roasted garlic mashed potatoes.

Now that is called love….to have made shrimp for the boy. I hate seafood, and typically can’t even stand the smell of it. I got through it, and he loved it. It was worth all the gagging!

And for dessert, what other than homemade chocolate covered strawberries….

Our first Ultrasound

We had our first ultrasound today, and the pictures do not do it justice. It was incredible watching the little heart beating. Absolutely amazing! I am still in awe. It does not resemble human form yet. But it has a blood supply and it’s thump-er is thumpin’ away! Did I mention the heart was beating!!!!!!

Here I am world, 7 weeks old….

Night-time carwash

Funny thing happened tonight…. I had this strong desire to clean my car earlier this evening after I got home from dinner with Aim. Mainly because I saw how dirty my car was next to her excessively shiny clean Pilot. So when I got home I asked Kenny if he would come with me. My main plan was to vacuum out the inside at least and clean out all the trash (after-all it was dark out) but since we had pocket change leftover it was just enough to use the self-serve car wash. So Kenny told me he would do it and just to wait in the car while he did. He seemed so sure of what he was doing but needless to say he wasn’t too sure because he spent all the time he had soaping up the entire car, and there was absolutely NO time left to rinse, and we were out of change! Consequently, it left us driving all the way home with a super soaped up car. I was SO embarrassed and tried to hide behind the soap studs while we were on the main road. I cant imagine how much funnier it would have been to actually see this soaped up Honda cruising down Main. LOL. Well when we got home, we had to rinse, dry and clean the windows……all in the dark. Our neighbors must think were crazy (or crazier….whichever). Talk about FUNNY. I could hardly do anything besides laugh!
